One of our sister organisations is Grrrl Games, a Bristol-based meetup for women in the South-West making games, run by Constance & Jess. Grrrl Games meets monthly, either at Bristol Games Hub or Bristol VR lab. Supported by Pretty Digital & Bristol Games Hub, it is a chance for women with all levels of experience to come and get together and share what they are doing. Grrrl Games also run jams and workshops on useful games-related skills and are always open to new members, whether established in the games industry, student or aspiring indie-maker. The next women’s games jam is the Spring Jam, which includes a FREE CRECHE!!!
Here’s the info:
Spring Jam 2018
Grrrl Games are very pleased to announce our first jam of 2018 – hosted by PlayWest and supported by FET/ UWE Frenchay. The GrrrlGames Spring Jam is on 23rd/24th Feb at the Foundry, Coldharbour Lane, and is open to all women (trans-inclusive) with all levels of experience. Absolute beginners and games-curious people are very welcome to come along and have a go at designing and making a game in a fun and friendly atmosphere.
We will run a FREE creche for 2-10 year olds on the Saturday 24th to make it easier for parents to attend, whether they are coming as participants or tech support. Deadline for creche spaces is 11th February.
