Here at Womens Tech Hub ~ Bristol we believe that we need to be seen and heard to encourage more women and girls into the tech sector. We are highly committed to being present at as many events and conferences as possible, not only to ensure that industry is aware of us but also so that women who are attending events know that there will definitely be other women to talk to.
We have found the local tech sector has been extremely welcoming to Women’s Tech Hub, inviting us to have free stands at conferences to encourage attendance by women and thus improving their diversity into the bargain.
The latest conference to sponsor us in this way is TEDx Bristol which is running on the 2nd and 3rd of November at the Colston hall TEDxBristol. TEDx Bristol’s team leader , Dana Bopp, was one of our very first WTHub members and has supported us greatly, both at our conference in June and helping us on our stand at Bristech where we officially launched last November. I also recently met Mel, the Curator and Creative Director, at an office opening event where we suggested they might want us to come along. So big thanks to Mel and Dana and the rest of the team for the invite, we will be there both days and selling our wonderful WTF ~ Bristol t-shirts for those of you itching to get your hands on one of them (£20 each or 2 for £30).
We really hope to see you there! There are still some tickets available on the website and the Speaker line up looks brilliantly interestingly and diverse so we are really looking forward to it.
