Happy Christmas – have a great break

Summary

Christmas, studio innovation fund & Green the uk

Signing off

It’s Christmas and there’s not a lot of tech events going on so we’ll just say have a lovely break to all of you, eat lots and enjoy a Christmas with your friends and family in the real world. Rest assured we will be back to let you know what’s happening, but for now we’re signing off for this year!

The Studio Innovation Fund 2023 – call out for applications

The Studio at Palace Yard Mews, Bath Spa University’s city-centre research and innovation hub, is delighted to be launching The Studio Innovation Fund which follows on from the successes of The Studio Recovery Fund. The aim of the fund is to support freelancers, micro-businesses, social enterprises and third sector organisations, based in Bath & North East Somerset (B&NES), to progress their creative technology project ideas.

The Studio Innovation Fund’s themes are inclusion and environmental sustainability. These link to the ambitions of the West of England Combined Authority (WECA) Cultural Plan and its broader vision for the support and growth of the creative industries in the region, as well as the core policies of the Bath and North East Somerset’s Corporate Strategy.

Call for proposals:
The Studio would like to invite proposals for creative technology projects that can run from Feb-Jul 2023, which take innovative approaches to addressing one or both of the fund’s themes:

  • Inclusion; e.g. supporting new talent, engaging new audiences, enabling diversity, and empowering people to make an impact in their communities.
  • Environmental sustainability; e.g. providing solutions, ideas, and education, or developing sustainable products or processes.

Full details on their website.

Not quite tech but sustainable so we’re giving them a callout …

Green the UK

This company have things like planting a tree for each train journey and sponsoring options for lots of company stuff – they’re looking for an electric car partner or looking at kelp health in the ocean. If you want to have a nice warm corporate glow, you could do worse!

We help organisations to tackle climate change through ecological projects such as tree planting in local schools, creating wildflower highways, and restoring our declining coastal kelp forests.

All of our projects have benefits to your local environment in terms of carbon sequestration and improving biodiversity. We make it easy for you to demonstrate your support with tailored marketing materials and case study reports.
