It’s getting quieter (or busier for parties it seems) on the runup to Christmas but we are getting news in on some exciting plans for the new year which we will be announcing shortly:

Girlgeek dinners Bristol have a few placemarkers currently for next year:

The ACCU Conference looks like it is running in March this year so we have put a placemaker in for our yearly update. We normally publicise the local meetups and groups to have a chance to engage and meet people. Any meetups wanting to present feel free to let us know on and we will try and accommodate you if you are looking to improve diversity in the tech industry (our core purpose).

Kinneir Dufort are a new and very welcome member and are looking to host on the 16th of April

XMOS ran a brilliant event for us last time and are up for hosting another event on the 21st of May.

WE are looking for anyone wanting to sponsor a February event on the 20th of February or later in the year, please contact us on if you are interested.

Similarly, Bath Girlgeek dinners are also keen to find sponsors in the Bath region.

Creative Workforce for the Future with KWMC

Engineering mentors wanted

The University of Bristol engineering faculty are looking for companies or members wishing to support their students through mentoring. The deadline to sign up has been extended until the end of the month – feel free to contact them directly.

Accelerator Programme

Lab by Transport for Wales (TfWL) is Wales’ leading rail dedicated innovation programme and runs 12-week accelerator programmes in partnership with Transport for Wales Rail, to support ambitious and creative tech start-ups that have a solution that can benefit rail and who want to grow their business. The recruitment deadline is 28 October 2019 and the programme starts in early November 2019. For further information and to apply please visit the TfWLab website.

Women’s Work Lab

The Women’s Work Lab and are launching a part-time course (12-15 hours per week) in February 2020 which combines training and coaching with work experience (as a volunteer so no impact on benefits) at a well-respected organisation in Bristol.

The ambition is for you to secure living-wage jobs with clear progression at the end of the programme, increasing your skills and confidence along the way, check out their website for details. Course application closed Jan 13th.
