Learn how to stream live events into the Metaverse with our new Bristol scholarship

Condense are offering up to 8 young Bristol creatives the opportunity of a lifetime. You’ll learn how to stream live events into one of the world’s most exciting new technologies, the Metaverse. The successful applicants will take part in a 12 week programme, full of rich and intensive study, completely funded through the scholarship.

Who are Condense?

Condense is on a mission to bring the world’s live events to the Metaverse. Their technology enables artists and performers to livestream events in real time as 3D video (volumetric video). The content is streamed into Unity and Unreal game engines, delivering completely new engaging experiences to people playing in online and console games, AR and VR. With Condense, the Metaverse is about to get real.

My World Scholarships

The MyWorld Scholarship supports home (UK) fee paying students who live in Bath (BA) and Bristol (BS) postcodes who are from underrepresented groups in Higher Education, to access taught undergraduate or postgraduate study linked to the creative technologies industry at the following universities:

  • University of Bristol
  • Bath Spa University
  • University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) 
  • University of Bath

Ten awards of up to £5,000 (pro-rata for the amount of credit they are studying) are available in 2022/23 and will be paid against the student’s tuition fees for either an undergraduate or postgraduate taught degree programme, as a fee reduction/waiver. 

Successful applicants will need to be enrolled and engage on either an undergraduate or postgraduate taught programme, studying either part-time or full-time.  The programme of study must be linked to the creative technologies industry and be offered at either the University of Bristol, Bath Spa University, University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) or University of Bath.  The scholarship will only apply for 2022/23, irrespective of the duration of the course. 

Freelancer Fortnight

From 5th – 16th September the PM Studio will be hosting ‘Freelancer Fortnight’ It’s a 2 week programme of workshops and events that are all free to attend for Creative Freelancers (any artform, any level of experience) We’re particularly interested in engaging with freelancers working with climate practice and/or community focus within their practice.
We also have a limited number of £50 bursaries available to attend workshops (first come first serve, no questions asked). We have an access budget so if you’d like to request BSL interpreters, captions or any other access services, please do just get in touch using the email on the web page.
