Women in Data – Coffee Confidential’s

For those interested in getting into Data – or already working in it then you should either know about or need to check out the Women in Data group. They host some great events and they are currently running a series of Women In Data Coffee confidential as mentioned above and a series of Podcasts.

Inclusive Innovation Funding

Since it was formed, Bristol+Bath Creative R+D has been tackling questions and ideas on how to make the programme and the creative technology community of Bristol and Bath a more inclusive space to think, make, and do.

Have some new funding streams to meet the needs of their community by engaging with one of three themes to test a new idea for inclusive practice or to reflect on an experience you have had recently. All of these learnings will be brought together in a series of observations, recommendations, resources and toolkits over the next 12 months.

There are two options:

Test (£2,500 flat fee) allows organisations/businesses to trial a new idea or continue some inclusive work. Deadline 21st of January.

Record (£500 flat fee) allows individuals to write an article/blog about an experience and learnings or thoughts on the themes. There is no deadline for this open call, submissions are reviewed weekly. There are 15 funding pots available.

Themes:

  • Inclusive Spaces – How do we create inclusive spaces where people engage with us
  • Inclusive Governance – How do we govern our organisations or partnerships
  • Inclusive Communities of Practice – How do we grow community and how do we keep that inclusive.

Resilience Research

Do you have 4-5 mins to make the difference to me as an individual and the science community on Resilience? This is a questionnaire on resilience for an MsC student (and basically we are also quite interested in the results!)

Conferences

The latest tech events we’ve spotted – there’s more coming up that you can find on our conference page.

Animal Free Research UK Conference 2021: Modernising Medical Research Tue, Dec 14

We suspect this is one of the last conferences of the year – and something close to our heart!

This inspiring event is a platform for you to share recently developed non-animal research and new approach methodologies, and for us to learn from each other in a dynamic multi-disciplinary environment. We will be exploring advances in in vitro research, new approaches in in silico research, thinking beyond animal-derived biomaterials and much more.

As a suggestion from one of our lovely members (Thanks Gabs #1!), we have also set up a “buymeacoffee” page for those wanting to give us a small thank-you. Check it out here.

Women’s Tech Hub products

Candidates page advertises the skillsets of the women we have looking for roles in the area (and some of our male allies).
