Upskilling

So carrying on the upskilling this week we are looking at User Experience and User Interface Design and research :

User Experience – UX

“UX” stands for “user experience.” A user’s experience of the app or website is determined by how they interact with it. Is the experience smooth and intuitive or clunky and confusing? Does navigating the app feel logical or does it feel arbitrary? Does interacting with the app give people the sense that they’re efficiently accomplishing the tasks they set out to achieve or does it feel like a struggle?

User Interface – UI

The “UI” in UI design stands for “user interface.” The user interface is the graphical layout of an application. It consists of the buttons users click on, the text they read, the images, sliders, text entry fields, and all the rest of the items the user interacts with. This includes screen layout, transitions, interface animations and every single micro-interaction. Any sort of visual element, interaction, or animation must all be designed.

Did we miss anything?

If you have any events that you want us to mention on our next Blogpost contact us on info@wthub.org. We do try to keep it to free or funded items that our members might relate to.

As a suggestion from one of our lovely members (Thanks Gabs #1!), we have also set up a “buymeacoffee” page for those wanting to give us a small thank-you. Check it out here.

Women’s Tech Hub products

Our Candidates page advertises the skillsets of the women we have looking for roles in the area (and some of our male allies).

We have a Jobs Board for those wanting to advertise specifically to our members in the area – check it out here.

If you want to engage with our members, advertise your companies and share any jobs then you can support us by sponsoring the Workshop Wednesdays – details here.
