We’re a bit giddy as we take a break for the summer and can’t wait for it – this Wednesday is our last Workshop Wednesday event and we are so excited that we are going to treat you all to pizzas! We’ve had a great term with our new more relaxed format which has bought in a variety of new faces and a great atmosphere. We plan to continue with the same format in the autumn but will happily host other learning groups with the same ethos so feel free to reach out to us on info@wthub.org.
We were contacted by Coding black females and want to share with you their great BootCamp offering.
Coding Black Females is a non-profit organisation, established in 2017 to address the under-representation of black women in technology. Our aim and mission is to grow and inspire the community of black female developers and to actively remove the barriers preventing black women from entering the industry and progressing within roles.
It is very much aligned with our mission and a great opportunity to share with you:
Coding Black Females have announced the launch of their new 30 week training bootcamp, Return to Tech.
Return to Tech will train and support black women with the desire to return to the tech industry after an extended break and GCHQ (Government Communications Headquarters) are sponsoring a cohort of black women.
Successful applicants will have the opportunity of employment as a Senior Software Engineer at GCHQ. The role is subject to passing developed vetting.
The bootcamp will train successful applicants in Modern Development Practices, Cloud Architecture and Technical Leadership and will help them to achieve certifications in tech.
Applicants must be over 18, based in the UK, be a British Citizen, black or mixed heritage, female or gender minority and would like to work in Manchester or Cheltenham.
Applications must also have previous experience in a technical role with hands-on coding and be returning to the tech industry after taking time out of up to 7 years for either parental leave, caring responsibilities, change or a break.
It’s an amazing opportunity. If you fit the bill, we would encourage you to apply today!
